We are living strange times – but we don’t need to tell you that. There are no longer any rules when it comes to… well… anything. Wedding planning included. This year many brides and grooms had to change their original wedding plans, and while some pushed those into next year, many made an entirely new plan on short notice; in some cases, plans changed more than once.

One such couple had planned their dream wedding at their ideal venue for March of this year. Just days before their big day, the world shut down in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. Reluctantly, they shifted their plans to September, assuming that six months would be enough time for the pandemic to be a bad memory.

As we now know, the world just isn’t the same place it was before the pandemic hit hard in March, and gatherings remain limited in size and scope, due to government mandated restrictions. Many event venues remain closed, and businesses everywhere are scrambling to meet the needs of their customers. Eric and Julie were forced to pivot their plans again in late summer due to the virus resurgence.  When they found a local winery, and a country club that could host their events outdoors, they turned to PartySavvy to help them with the challenge of safely holding their rehearsal dinner at the winery, and their wedding reception outdoors, at the country club without sacrificing elegance.

Eric and Julie decided to take control of their venue – and with Party Savvy’s assistance planned their outdoor celebrations in 29 days. Together we created a vision for a scaled-down version of the hotel ballroom wedding reception they nearly pulled off in March. The guest list would be smaller, but there would be no compromising on its elegant style.

With only 29 days between their phone call to PartySavvy and the date of their wedding, we collaborated with the country club staff on the best use of the outdoor terrace overlooking the Allegheny River at Longue Vue Club to make their wedding day dreams a reality.  We had a site visit, and promptly drew up our plans for a luxurious tented wedding within the constraints of the venue and the pandemic gathering restrictions in place at the time. We also worked with Eric and Julie’s other vendors, creating a seamless plan for all involved, including the event set up and equipment removal.

The result was stunning! Not only did Eric and Julie’s gorgeous wedding venue feature the kind of panoramic views that only Pennsylvania can offer, but the addition of the majestic frame tents, complete with fabric liners, matching leg skirts, and elegant chandeliers, enhanced the natural beauty and charm of the historic setting.

Take a peek inside their rehearsal dinner at a local vineyard, where PartySavvy supplied tables and chairs to keep guests comfortable and safely distanced, as well as their romantic tented wedding reception in the video below.

We are ready to help you plan your late fall wedding in record-setting time. As we march toward cooler months, we recommend adding tent sidewalls and heaters for maximum comfort and coziness!
